Protection comes in many ways: natural protection, social protection and cultural protection. But in each aspect, there are people responsible in achieving such protective acts.
NATURAL PROTECTION
This has something to do with the ecotourism sites in Ozamiz City namely - Bukagan Hill and Naomi's Botanical Garden. These areas were properly protected to maintain its natural beauty and ambiance.
Bukagan Hill actually looks like one of the Chocolate hills found in Bohol. And it's the only natural atttraction which is very visible to eyes of each individual. Years passed yet Bukagan Hill sustained its shape and beauty.
Naomi's Botanical Garden is the only botanical garden in the city. It is known for its numerous types of plants, halls, and wide landscape. Most of the time, it is used as a wedding reception because of its spacious area. But even if many people visit this place, its beauty did not decline. The caretakers are just around the area, doing their bests to protect it. Everyday, they ensure that the surroundings are clean and visually adorable.
SOCIAL PROTECTION
There is no need to worry when you roam around Ozamiz. It's safe! You are protected. The present mayor of the city makes the safety and security of the people as her number one priority. As it is prioritized, she ensures that the city's PNP are doing their job in capturing the dangerous people the society.
CULTURAL PROTECTION
The famous tribe found in Ozamiz are the Subanen. There is really a protection for them since Ozamiznons do protect them. They are being respected and not bullied. They are being appreciated and not teased. They are being treasured and not ignored. With the help of the Ozamiz City's Department of Tourism, the Subanen people were protected most importantly with regard to their culture and practices. In fact, these factors were given importance most especially during the city's charter day where in Subanen Keg Subayen Festival is being held featuring the practices, traditional costumes, beliefs and dances of the Subanen community. Many Ozamiznons were able to witness these things during the event and from within, cultural pride is being built. Everything turns out to be worth keeping.
